Belief gives individuals extraordinary powers to do what otherwise they could not or would not do. Atheism is a belief. Atheists do not believe in the existence of a God, nor do they believe in the afterlife. This gives them a reason to defy God and divine laws. There are certain boundaries that believers would not cross; these are divine boundaries, such as sodomy. On the other hand, atheists would cross those red lines that may lead to the destruction of the family system.
Atheism has always existed in some shape or form, but it never gained as much popularity as it did during the 20th and early 21st centuries. Atheism began to be promoted by the European philosophers during the Renaissance, the fifteenth, sixteenth, and especially the seventeenth centuries. However, the propaganda tools of the 20th and 21st centuries have given them an extra edge.
They have utilised propaganda tools extensively and quite successfully, blaming religion for the problems in the world and saying that to achieve a utopian future, we must rid the world of religion. However, in practice, they promote materialism and mammon worship; their main loyalty is to human benefits at the expense of ethics and human values. The utopian dream in reality is nothing less than a nightmare.
Atheists place their faith in science and materialism and wish to see a material God. They argue that if God cannot be proven scientifically, then there is no God. However, they have failed to scientifically prove that there is no God. Atheists also claim that ethics and morals are human products and have been created not by the divine will but by the people over a long period. The fallacy of this argument is that there is no evidence to suggest that there has been advancement in ethics and morals during the past few centuries; instead, things have degenerated considerably.
The irony is that atheists often accuse believers of being slaves and blindly following religion, while it is the atheistic world that has become slaves of their Nafs (egos) and is blindly following their desires and whims. To put it simply, they are worshipping their egos.
The worshipping of their Nafs has confused their minds about wealth and the pleasures of this worldly life. In the Qur’an, Allah (SWT) explains:
Allah (SWT) gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills. And the disbelievers become prideful of ˹the pleasures of˺ this worldly life. But the life of this world, compared to the Hereafter, is nothing but a fleeting enjoyment. (Qur’an, 13:26)
The disbelievers say, “If only a sign could be sent down to him from his Lord.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Indeed, Allah (SWT) leaves to stray whoever He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns to Him—. (Qur’an, 13:27)
Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah (SWT). Surely in the remembrance of Allah (SWT) do hearts find comfort. (Qur’an, 13: 28)
The net result of ubiquitous atheism is that people are no longer content or tranquil in their lives. During the 20th and 21st centuries, progress in hygiene and medical care increased longevity, but that has since levelled off because of the increased rate of suicide. According to the UN figures and reports, one in four individuals globally is suffering from mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, and depression.
The fact is that a decrease in religious practices has increased loneliness, and this phenomenon is evident not only in the Western world but everywhere. Yet, despite overwhelming evidence pointing out the shortcomings and failure of this obsolescent ideology, the followers of atheism tend to not only continue to accept their defective materialistic creed but also wish to make it the only universal belief system in the world. To achieve their goals, atheists want the destruction of all existing governments and religions.
Many of the major wars and geopolitical changes that took place during the 19th and 20th centuries were to this end: to impose atheistic religion on every individual around the world. And this was predicted by our Prophet (PBUH):
Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Near the establishment of the Hour, there will be the days of Al-Harj, and the religious knowledge will be taken away (vanish i.e. by the death of Religious scholars) and general ignorance will spread.” Abu Musa said, “Al-Harj, in the Ethiopian language, means killing.” (Sahih al-Bukhari:7066)
We are witnessing a lot of killings now, and atheists are at the forefront of it as the main instigators. Atheism has killed more people than any other ideology. Whether that killing was during World War One, World War Two, or under Communism. The agenda has always been to impose and promote atheism. It is not a human agenda; it is the Antichrist’s agenda. The criminals in power are simply the minions of the Antichrist.
