This article intends to answer the following questions:
- What is so special about the Middle East?
- Why does this region attract so many invaders?
- What if China becomes the superpower of the world?
It is a common misconception that it is the oil in the Middle East that makes this region so special. It is its geopolitical position. This is where the three continents meet: Africa, Asia and Europe. The region indeed has been the centre of trade routes for centuries. If Africans want to trade with Asia or Europe, then they must go through this region, and vice versa. So, its economic importance cannot be ignored.
There are other important reasons too. For example, any rising empire with intentions of becoming a global hegemony must conquer and control this region and include it as part of its empire. No empire can be recognised as a global superpower unless it dominates and controls Al-Quds. Greeks, Macedonians, Romans, Muslims, and British controlled this region, and now American Zionists wish to prolong their control over the so-called holy lands.
What makes this region ‘the Fertile Crescent’ is not just its agricultural plains but its role as a fertile ground for new knowledge and religiosity, the two most precious commodities in the ancient world. For thousands of years, this region promoted itself as the centre of knowledge, especially during ancient times in Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, Assyria, and the Abbasid Caliphate.
However, what is seldom discussed is that the Fertile Crescent has always played an important role in the history of mankind. That is, whenever the world found itself in the clutches of an oppressive and tyrannical system, as a result of man-made laws, this region provided the antidote. A positive change and a new beginning came from this region.
This region always rises to the challenge and offers an alternative oppression-free system to the world, e.g., Islam. So many revolutionary leaders (prophets) originated from this region. This is obvious to anyone who has read the Qur’an.
In the 21st century, the West is facing decay as a result of man-made systems. The Western Hemisphere flourished during the past few centuries, but the man-made socioeconomic system created during this period has resulted in the enslavement of humanity. Now the Western governments are also adopting totalitarianism thanks to the man-made system. Discussions are happening about the problems facing the West but not about any possible solution.
Under the man-made oppressive system, the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker; this makes the world out of balance. The Fertile Crescent has a long history of re-establishing equilibrium to the world. The world will become balanced when it gains freedom from the clutches of usury and the oppressive and corrupt democracy-based system.
The Anglo-American-Zionist system is fighting an existential war in the Middle East. Again, it is the Fertile Crescent that is destined to play its role in the end times.
Donald Trump is the American Gorbachev
As I stated in my previous article, America is facing the same destiny as that of the USSR, including fragmentation identical to the USSR. This means Donald Trump is the new Gorbachev of the 21st century. He is already taking steps similar to what Gorbachev did, i.e., shrinking the empire.
America will face its moment of truth in the Middle East as the USSR did in Afghanistan. The question is what comes next after the collapse of the American empire?
China is developing its military, economic and political clout at a phenomenal speed. It is fast becoming a behemoth. Just imagine how powerful China will be in the next 15-20 years. China may become more powerful than America ever was. However, China has declared that it does not wish to be the ruling global power. This is good news for the time being, but this reality could change.
Too Many IFs
What if China realises that after the collapse of America and the weakened Europe, there is nobody there to challenge China’s supremacy? What if China has the idea that it should be the world’s ruling power? All China needs to do is to go out, conquer and dominate the Fertile Crescent. What if one day China covets Al-Quds?
It is difficult to say whether the Chinese are Yajooj Majooj (Gog Magog). The wall built by Ⱬul-Qarnain is still a mystery (Qur’an 18:94).
