Israel has imposed a blackout on the media. So, it is hard to discern the exact situation inside Israel. However, the truth cannot be hidden forever. Slogans aside, the fact is sanctions have actually impaired the Iranian economy and significantly weakened Iran’s ability to defend itself. If attacked, Iran does have the ability to close the Strait of Hormuz. However, at least 35 to 40% of the world’s oil goes through the Strait of Hormuz. Closing down the strait just for a month would cripple the global economy. The Western economies would be more severely affected than the rest of the world. While the Western leadership are in deep slumber, unconcerned about the tsunami heading their way, Israelis have a free hand to ignite the powder keg.
