We are living in fake times. Fake news, fake education, fake high-level leaderships, fake foods. Our lives have become fake. You are no longer sure if the foods we are eating are healthy or not. Most likely they are not. In my view, and this is my personal view, I do not think that Covid is a strong virus. In my view, it is a weak virus. What has happened is that for decades we have been eating unhealthy foods, the pesticides and processed foods have weakened our bodies so much, we struggle to defend ourselves against a weak virus.
I would say over the last 100 years our immune system has weakened significantly. Our immunity comes from our diet. According to Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, our immune system is located in our gut. Thus, our health is really in our gut. Our focus should be to look after the health of the gut. Our focus should be fresh organic foods.
Our foods no longer give us the same amount of nutrients that were present in vegetables and fruits 100 years ago. With the transformation of agriculture and industrial farming, we have been gifted with various epidemics, such as autism, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Most people over the age of 50 are on a cocktail of medicines.
The solutions Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride provides are simple, easy to understand, and logical. However, this is her theory. And I quite like her theory. As she explains in her book, Gut and Psychology Syndrome: Natural Treatment for Autism, Dyspraxia, A.D.D., Dyslexia, A.D.H.D., Depression, Schizophrenia, that we need to look at the body as a whole rather than looking at each organ as a separate entity. The truth is, all the organs in the body are interconnected and they affect each other. However, it is the gut that plays a vital role in processing the foods we eat, separating nutrients and vitamins that we need for our energy.
I am inspired by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride’s knowledge and expertise on the subject as shown in her books. This is the second book that I am reviewing. You can read my first review of her book on vegetarianism by clicking on the following link, How Foods Are Destroying Health.
