As a teenager, like other kids my age, I too used to watch American TV serials. One of my favourite programs was Star Trek. Captain Kirk of the Star ship Enterprise seeking New Frontiers. At that time, I never really understood what was meant by the new frontiers. Now in 2025, it is quite easy to identify the new frontiers.
The newly elected American president (Captain Kirk) has announced his interest in acquiring new frontiers like Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal. He is a former real estate developer turned politician. Now he is after energy-rich real estate. The new frontier. The concept of the new frontiers is not new.
Historically speaking, whenever the nomads in and around the Eurasian Steppe ran out of green pastures for their animals or trees for wood burning in the nearby forest, they would just simply pack their belongings and go in search of new frontiers, new energy sources that are essential for life.
The problem America is facing is that the American debt at this moment stands at $36 trillion and is increasing by over 70,000 dollars per second. The Empire is feeling desperate as it faces collapse and is seeking new frontiers to maintain its hegemony. New Frontiers are the lifeblood of an empire. It needs to occupy more regions that are energy-rich. A colonial mindset.
This puts the energy-rich or energy-transit routes at risk of colour revolutions by the empire.
The second captain is also a fictional character. Captain Ahab is the captain of a fishing ship in Herman Melville’s 1851 novel ‘Moby-Dick.’ Captain Ahab is so determined to hunt the great white whale that in his obsession he loses his own life.
There are strategically two important new frontiers that are currently not being discussed in the legacy media. Both of these frontiers are energy-transit routes. After the loss of the Nord Stream pipeline and the Ukraine pipelines being compromised due to war, the only major transit route for Europe is through Türkiye. Whether that pipeline is coming from Russia, Azerbaijan, Qatar, or Saudi Arabia, the route will be through Türkiye. Israel has destroyed all the other options, i.e., Lebanese and Syrian ports.
There is another reason why Türkiye is so important: its history. Constantinople was once the capital of the Christian world. The Western world has not forgotten that nor forgiven the Ottomans for taking it from the Byzantines. The Europeans are preparing to take back Constantinople. Will the colonists be able to conquer the great white whale?
However, a hadith mentions that Constantinople will be occupied by the non-Muslims:
Abu Huraira reported Allah (SWT)’s Apostle (may peace he upon him) saying: You have heard about a city, one side of which is on land and the other is in the sea (Constantinople). They said: Allah (SWT)’s Messenger, yes. Thereupon he said: The Last Hour would not come unless seventy thousand persons from Bani lshaq would attack it. When they would land there, they will neither fight with weapons nor would shower arrows but would only say: “There is no god but Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is the Greatest,” and one side of it would fall. Thaur (one of the narrators) said: I think that he said: The part by the side of the ocean. Then they would say for the second time: “There is no god but Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is the Greatest” and the second side would also fall, and they would say: “There is no god but Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) is the Greatest,” and the gates would be opened for them and they would enter therein and, they would be collecting spoils of war and distributing them amongst themselves when a noise would be heard saying: Verily, Dajjal has come. And thus they would leave everything there and go back. (Sahih Muslim:2920a)
Going back to Captain Kirk and Captain Ahab. The danger America faces is not from outsiders but rather from within; its major problems include corruption and disloyal leadership. Running after the great whale to save America is like trying to turn back the wheel of time. Captain Ahab is the wrong person for this job. Even if America does not want to pick a fight with Türkiye, America’s ally Israel is certainly eager to pick a fight with Türkiye. According to the Zionist entity’s government report, “Israel must prepare for potential war with Türkiye, Nagel Committee warns” (ETZION, 2025).
The other new frontier has the pipeline route from Central Asia to Gwadar Port in Pakistan. It is quite likely that Captain Ahab may try to go after his great white whale in Eurasia and South Asia after completing negotiations on Greenland with Denmark.
If you thought 2024 was an interesting year because of the many big events that happened in the Middle East, many leaders were assassinated and a government was toppled. Then expect 2025 to be equally dramatic and eventful, not only in the Middle East but also inside America.
Get your popcorn ready. Geopolitical chess pieces are moving at such a rapid pace in the Middle East and on the world stage. It is virtually impossible to keep up with events unfolding.
